OVERVIEW

This private garden in Longfield, Kent presented a complex layout that required careful planning to create a sense of balance and cohesion. The project focuses on delivering a contemporary outdoor space that feels calm, functional, and visually resolved.

Large format paving establishes a clean, modern foundation throughout the garden, while Dutch clay pavers introduce texture and detail. Thermo ash decking is used both underfoot and as cladding to the summerhouse and garage, creating a consistent architectural language across the space.

A central fireplace acts as a strong focal point and gathering area, providing warmth and atmosphere for evening use. An elegant three-spout water feature introduces movement and sound, adding a subtle sense of tranquillity.

The planting scheme is carefully curated as a counterpoint to the structured hard landscaping, bringing seasonal interest, colour, and texture. The completed garden balances contemporary materials with thoughtful detailing, resulting in a refined and inviting outdoor retreat.
